December was crazy....as i'm sure it was for everyone. I'm going to try to do a quick recap of the month. Brandon did really well with his surgery and recovery at home. We had to drive to Salt Lake on the 23rd for his post surgery checkup. As I'm sure everyone noticed, the weather wasn't exactly great in December....we made the trip in one day....up was horrible, but back was a bit safer. The appointment did really well, they originally said he would be in a boot for several weeks, but it turns out he was healing so well that they just did an X-ray, took off the soft cast, removed the drain and sent us home! This is the picture of the X-ray, the wavey thing is the drain that was left in for a couple of weeks, but if you look at the bottom you can see where his fibula bone ends! It's pretty crazy that they just took it out and didn't put anything back, but we are amazed and blessed that he seems to have almost full function of his leg.
